In a recent interview on the Price of Business with host Kevin Price, Cynthia Ryan, Executive Director of the Vestibular Disorders Association (VeDA), discussed the organization’s mission to support individuals living with dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders. She explained that vestibular disorders—conditions affecting the inner ear and brain—can be life-altering, making everyday activities such as walking, driving, or even standing challenging.

Cynthia described how VeDA provides clear, reliable, and science-based information to help patients understand their condition, navigate the healthcare system, and connect with qualified vestibular specialists. The organization also fosters peer-to-peer support through online communities, where people can share experiences and coping strategies. Beyond patient resources, VeDA works to educate healthcare providers, encourage earlier diagnosis, and advocate for better access to care.

She emphasized that vestibular disorders are often invisible, leading to isolation and misunderstanding, and that raising awareness is key to improving the lives of those affected. Through campaigns like Balance Awareness Week, VeDA engages the public and the medical community to “Make Vestibular Visible.”
