INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed David Dozier who is a leading media authority.

On a recent Price of Business show, Host Kevin Price interviewed Dr. David Dozier. He’s a retired professor of journalism at San Diego State University. They discussed Mark Zuckerberg’s decision to end fact checking on Meta platforms. These include Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. This is craven and cowardly boot licking of Donald Trump. The decision may be a smart business move. But it does not protect free speech, as Zuckerberg alleges. As free speech advocates, we strongly defend First Amendment rights. Some favor the notion that “facts” are what the powerful say they are. Trump has a long history of stating lies as “alternative facts,” stretching back to the crowd size at his 2017 inauguration to lying about the winner of the 2020 presidential election. Trump insisted—and continues to insist—that he won the 2020 election. That is not true. Yet that lie helped incite the January 6 riot. The willingness to embrace this “big lie” remains a litmus test of loyalty to Trump. Meta’s platforms will now depend on Community Notes to do content moderation. Elon Musk uses that moderation tool on X (formerly known as Twitter). According to the nonpartisan Poynter Institute, the X platform flags only 4 percent of disinformation as false. That’s because the polarized “community” must agree that something is false. A majority of the “community” rarely achieves agreement (see www.DavidDozierBooks.com and www.linkedin.com/in/david-dozier-576b684/)
