Kaplan is a long time contributor of the Price of Business show and brings important perspectives on politics, business, and the law.
In the past, Biden and Xi have been on friendly terms when they were vice presidents. In a public display the two shook hands briefly and then Biden gently touched Xi’s arm. They both emphasized how important it is for the United States and China to chart the right course for the future of their relationship.
In private, however, it is said that Biden spent much of the lengthy meeting discussing the situations in Hong Kong and Taiwan, and other areas of aggression. No concessions appeared to have been made and the Biden made it clear the US doesn’t want conflict.
