On a recent Price of Business show, Host Kevin Price interviews former CBS TV Vice President, Jeremy Murphy.

MSNBC’s decision to rebrand as MS NOW marks a bold and forward-looking step for the network. Shedding the NBCUniversal name and the peacock logo is not a retreat, but a clear declaration of independence. As part of the spin-off into Versant, MS NOW is no longer tethered to legacy expectations and can fully embrace its own identity and editorial mission.

The change is more than cosmetic. MS NOW positions the network to stand apart in a crowded media landscape. By leaving behind the NBC name, it avoids brand confusion and strengthens its image as a progressive, personality-driven outlet with its own voice. Freed from dependence on NBC News, MS NOW can invest directly in its own reporting, build new studios—including an expanded Washington presence—and lean into platforms where future audiences live, from TikTok to podcasts to live events.

Critics may nitpick the new logo or name, but the strategic upside is undeniable. The rebrand creates agility, clarity, and a fresh story to tell viewers. Most importantly, it signals that the network is future-focused—ready to grow beyond its roots and thrive as an independent brand with sharper identity and stronger reach.
