INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Jeremy Murphy.

On a recent Price of Business, Price interviewed form VP of Communications for CBS TV about the controversies that continue to surround former CNN anchor Don Lemon. This being the debacle of his recent interview with Elon Musk of Twitter.

Elon Musk and Don Lemon’s interview was a tense affair that ended up souring a potential partnership. Here’s the breakdown:

  • The Interview: Lemon interviewed Musk on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter). It was meant to be the first of many under a new deal.
  • Contentious Topics: The interview covered sensitive subjects like Musk’s use of ketamine for depression and his views on free speech on X. Lemon’s approach was confrontational, insinuating Musk was a hypocrite when it came to free speech.
  • Deal Cancelled: Following the interview, Musk abruptly cancelled the X partnership with Lemon. He claimed Lemon’s show resembled “CNN but on social media,” lacking authenticity. He went on to argue that such didn’t work on cable and it certainly wouldn’t work on social media.
  • Interview Released: Lemon responded by releasing the entire interview on X, including their disagreement over free speech and questions about ketamine.  Lemon seemed to insinuate that Musk’s treatment of him was racially or even “homophobic” in nature. Saying, Musk doesn’t like to do interviews with “people like me.”

This whole situation highlights the ongoing debate about free speech on social media platforms and the challenges of balancing open discourse with accountability for powerful figures.

In the interview between Price and Murphy, they discussed:

  • Lemon’s historying of posturing himself as a victim
  • Lemon’s inability of understanding the simple financial concept of not “biting the hands that feeds you”
  • Lemon’s tone deafness, where it was clear things were not going like Musk wanted and that it was clear there were going to be consequences long before the interview was over.
Lemon clearly behaved like he was in charge, which seems very naive when you look at the history of Musk’s engagements with others.
