Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed J.L. Carpenter.

The J.L. Carpenter Interviews

Price and JL Carpenter continue their ongoing series, “Justice and the Law with JL Carpenter.”  This show is shocking and compelling. Must see show, much listening segment.

“What Jennifer Did” is a true-crime documentary on Netflix. It dives into the shocking case of Jennifer Pan, a Canadian teenager who orchestrated a plot to kill her parents.

The documentary explores the deteriorating relationship between Jennifer and her strict immigrant parents. It reveals how her manipulative boyfriend, Danny Wong, influenced her decisions. The film follows the aftermath of the attack, where Jennifer’s mother is murdered and her father is left for dead. It is fairly likely that, without her father surviving, she would have gotten away with it.

“What Jennifer Did” includes interviews with police investigators, people close to the family, and even Jennifer herself. It explores the shocking motives behind the crime and the legal proceedings that followed. The documentary also sheds light on the surprising twist of a new trial granted for those involved.

She is a Native Houstonian and a former prosecutor.  J.L. Carpenter began her defense practice in 2006 and since has defended thousands of clients including three high profile trials in Houston. J.L. also aids clients in finding sobriety and works with folks in recovery outside of her legal practice.
