INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed David Dozier who is a leading media authority.

On Dec. 5, the House GOP powered through a resolution declaring that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. The vote was 311 to 14 with 92 congressmen abstaining. Those abstaining included eight of the 24 Jewish congress members. The news media continue to do a poor job of clarifying what these words mean. Anti-Semitism. Anti-Zionism. Opposition to the current Israeli government. These are interrelated but distinct. Anti-Semitism is “prejudice against or hatred of Jews,” according to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum. Zionism is “the movement for the self-determination and statehood for the Jewish people in their ancestral homeland,” according to the Anti-Defamation League. Opposition to the current Israeli government takes many forms from many quarters. The surprise Oct. 7 attack by Hamas on Israeli civilians and the Israeli war on Gaza galvanized opposition inside Israel. A late Oct. poll showed 76% of Israelis feel Prime Minister Netanyahu should resign. Semantic distortions are rooted in competing narratives about Israel. Until recently, the dominant one in the U.S. was a pro-Zionist, pro-Israeli government narrative. It asserts that Israel is the ancestral home of Jews. Israel is a vibrant democracy surrounded by hostile Muslim theocracies that want to destroy Israel. A competing narrative states that Muslims and Christians also claim the Holy Land (especially Jerusalem) as home. This narrative sees Israel as a white European colony imposed by other whites in 1948 on the 950,000 Arabs already living there. About 80% were expelled or fled. This competing narrative is widely endorsed by Arabs, Muslims and many Europeans, as well as younger Americans and persons of color. (DavidDozierBooks.com).
