INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed Jeremy Murphy.

On a recent Price of Business show, Host Kevin Price interviews former CBS TV Vice President, Jeremy Murphy.

Price and Murphy discuss Dokoupil as the new anchor of the CBS Evening News.

Some commentators—particularly a few self-described demography analysts—have accused Tony Dokoupil of being “MAGA-adjacent” based on a segment involving Marco Rubio that was received as unusually serious by parts of the political left. In that reading, Dokoupil’s tone and framing were interpreted as deferential, or at least insufficiently skeptical, and therefore suspect in a polarized media environment where presentation is often read as ideology.

Yet the same segment can plausibly be understood in a different register. What some viewers took as earnest engagement could just as easily be seen as dry, even understated mockery—an approach consistent with a long tradition of straight-faced interviewing that lets subjects expose themselves through their own words rather than overt confrontation. The ambiguity of tone is doing much of the work here, not any explicit political signaling.

Crucially, there is little in Dokoupil’s résumé or broadcast history to support the MAGA label. His career has been defined by mainstream reporting roles and conventional journalistic norms, not partisan advocacy. The accusation, then, appears less rooted in evidence than in the contemporary tendency to treat tonal ambiguity as ideological confession.

According to a statement, “Jeremy Murphy is a sarcastic, embittered veteran of the media industry. Founder of 360bespoke, a respected boutique PR agency in New York, Murphy handles a full roster of clients in the lifestyle, beauty, fashion, and start-up fields. Previously, he was Vice President of Communications at CBS, where he worked for 14 years. There, he oversaw PR for many of its divisions and created its glossy magazine Watch. Murphy started as a journalist, working with Knight Ridder newspapers and Mediaweek. He is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University and lives in New York with his cat, Champers.”
