Jan 6 Video: Vet It and Release It to All
INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.
Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed David Dozier who is a leading media authority.
In February, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) granted “exclusive” access to some 42,000 hours of Jan. 6 Capitol Police security video to Fox News entertainer/commentator Tucker Carlson. We argue that qualified personnel vet all videos for security issues. Then McCarthy should release vetted videos—property of the American people—to all news outlets. Other news organizations (ABC News, CBS News, Scripps, Gannett, Los Angeles Times, Politico, ProPublica) have protested Fox’s exclusive access. Democrats in Congress objected to the “unfettered” access to the videos that McCarthy promised Carlson. Such access, they argue, jeopardizes Capitol security. More problematic, Carlson has suggested on Fox that the Jan. 6, 2021 riot was a “false flag” operation orchestrated by the government, not Trump supporters. Carlson will cherry-pick videos that support his far-right ideology. Public relations experts say that the first story generated from the videos will set the dominant narrative. Follow-up stories are at a disadvantage trying to dislodge it (see DavidDozierBooks.com).
