What Was Really Behind Tucker Carlson’s Firing at Fox News?

Recently Kevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed filmmaker Warren D. Robinson (image below).

Price and Robinson Discuss the Sudden Removal of Tucker Carlson from Fox

In a surprise move Fox News recently parted ways with its highest rated television host Tucker Carlson. While no reason was given for Carlson’s departure it appears that the conservative host was not given prior notice he was being let go. “He ended his show on a Friday telling his audience he would see them next week, so it appears he was blindsided by this announcement.” Says entertainment executive, producer and lawyer Warren D. Robinson, “I don’t blame Fox executives for not giving Carlson advanced notice,” Robinson says. “With a personality as volatile as Tucker there is no telling what he would have said or how he would have incited his audience if you had given him the chance for a final show.” Robinson also believes that there is more  to Fox’s firing of Carlson, perhaps something that happened behind the scenes that the public is not yet aware of, he says, “You don’t just get rid of your highest rated host. Not to mention they have spent at least a decade protecting him even during advertising boycotts so for them to finally let him go, I suspect it must have been something big that even Fox couldn’t spin.” While Robinson admits he has no inside knowledge of what is happening at Fox he does know that if there is something else behind Carlson’s firing it is only a matter of time until we find out Robinson says, “In this day and age, trust me it’s going to leak.”

According to a statement, “Entertainment executive and producer, Warren D. Robinson believes that when organizations are willing to have open and honest conversations about race and their own bias they can commit to meaningful change. We have seen this recently in the form of Hollywood award shows, particularly, the Grammys and the Academy Awards (Oscars). The Recording Academy and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have both taken concrete steps to diversify their ranks and address inherit biases in their voting processes. As a result we have the most diverse crop of award winners/nominees, respectively, we’ve ever seen. Contrast that with the scandal and production shutdown currently at CBS’s The Talk, which resulted because a co-host was unable to properly engage in a conversation about race, address her own bias and commit to doing better. ‘The key part to every conversation’ Warren says, ‘starts with listening. Listening and hearing are different and if you are unable to listen then you are unable to have a conversation.’
